Description : A medium sized map made in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, an attempt to emulate the feeling I'm sure a lot of people experience being trapped indoors for days (or months) on end.

Overview

 

 

 


 No lie - this is one of the most intriguing maps I've played in YEARS. This map has it all: Excellent design, really good gameplay and something you would not only recommend to a friend but something you would want to play again, yourself, just so you could improve on your performance.

 

 

It starts off innocuously enough - you're in a tunnel. There is the occasional bad ass that you will need to dispatch. It's dark - so be careful, but nothing to dire. After that initial quietude, however, all hell IS going to break loose. The room  pictured above isn't as difficult as it looks but OH MY GOD is it gorgeous. I absolute LOVE the textures that the author used as well as the music that goes along with the map.

 

 

Sir Revenant makes himself quite a few appearances in this one. No lie - save often. It is very dark in some areas and in some cases you are fighting in close quarters so make sure you don't waste ammo (you're going to need it) and be nimble. If you're not up on your strafing skills right now. This might be a good time to bone up. Get it? lol You will see plenty of these fuckers and I consider them one of the most dangerous of the menagerie that will be thrown at you throughout this gauntlet of a map. Like I said -save often, be nimble and have that double shotgun ready to dispense some pain and fast.

 

 

I have to commend the author for his design and texture work and while the nukage (seen here) looks really nice, it serves no purpose in the map. The author doesn't use it to rain death and despair down on  our hero marine so he might as well have used water, or blood. Personally, I would have gone with blood. it would have looked fucking amazing and I wouldn't have been expecting pain to be dispensed by it. It's a minor point, however, as it really does look good in the manner it was used.

 

 

As noted previously, there are quite a few Revenants strewn throughout this rather expansive map and their appearance while sometimes expected, is always a sign that you need to haul ass backwards and start firing your ass off.

 

 

Again, I really love the textures and the design. I'm not familiar with the author but I think we all should be.

 

 

Our friend Fat Bastard, aka Mancubus also makes it's presence known as we dig deeper into the bowels of the author's imagination.

There are a large number of these, particularly in the middle of the map and while they can be dangerous, they are easy to kill because they are so damn slow. Again, I find Sir Revenant far more deadly and one hell of a lot faster. Between his rockets and punches, he is one ornery motherfucker.

 

 

There are a few Arch Viles but this is the only one roaming free. You don't want to let this son of a bitch loose or he'll screw up all your hard work and you will be lying face down in a pool of your own blood before you can count to 3

 

 

Final verdict:

 

I guarantee you won't regret picking this one up and giving it a go. It will keep you on your toes for a fair amount of time and you won't be bored.

As noted - excellent design work. Love the textures and how they're used.
