Well, faithful followers of "This week in Doom", here we are in the year 2016. As I have been doing for the majority of the history of Doom's existence, I will continue to bring you new doom wads, new reviews, updated news and much more. This particular page is my modest attempt to keep you abreast of all the current goings on in the Doom community - new Doom wads, new Doom 3 maps, updates on projects, Doom engines and more. Enjoy and Keep on Dooming!

Thanks to "Fonze" for taking up the mantle of responsibility for TWID and doing the research and writing up TWID for us. Also, Thanks to you, the reader(s), and Community, which have kept Doom alive and relevant for all these years. And, thanks to ID Software, without whom, all this could not be possible. Keep on Dooming!

       This Week in Doom: 02.14.16

I think one of the coolest things about Doom to me is people's desire to put it on everything and the ease for modders to tinker with it through Id's actions. I recently found a Doom app on the Android OS which not only runs Doom, but runs it with intuitive controls (for a touch-screen) and with maximum compatibility. D-Touch is what it's called and it comes with ports of Chocolate Doom, PrBoom-Plus, and GzDoom. I was tickled to see that not only would it play custom wads, it's port of PrBoom-Plus has no problems playing or even recording demos. The folks over at Beloko Games did an excellent job with this app and my hat is off to them for their absolutely solid product! Check their site here:

Going first to the archives, we have 3 new wads coming in this week.

The first wad this week is called "UNX01" by unerxai; find it here:

This wad was made for Vanilla under the Doom 2 iWad. It's not a bad map and coming in at 84 monsters why not give it a shot?

Coming up in the second slot this week is a wad called "Full Doom Textures" by TheLoop aka Uhbooh which can be found here:

This mod runs in Vanilla with either Doom 1 or Doom 2 as the iWad. What this mod does is allows for Doom 1 textures in Doom 2 and vice versa, which is pretty cool. Check it out when you can.

The final wad for the week is called "Spiky Speed MapPack" by CactusHege / Hege Cactus; find it here:

This wad contains 9 maps and runs in zDoom with the Doom 2 iWad.

These maps were pretty fun and had some cool effects in them. I liked the new enemy that flew and threw fireballs, too. Give these maps a try right away.

Slow week for /idgames; let's scan the web.

One Man Doom has 3 new articles up.

The first is of a wad called "Black Magnetic" by Angry Saint; find it here:

The second is a celebration of 500 reviews (wow! Great job KMX!) and a list of suggestions for future reviews, found here:

And the last is a wad called "Celestial Site" by DooMSkeR Scratch and it can be found here:

Up on Realm 667 is a link to a YouTube video from Icarus Lives about Tormentor's new "WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony" mod. Check it here:

New Doomsday blog; the team contiues work on improving the Home screen. Read about it here:

Got some cool miscellaneous demos coming into the forums; check 'em out here:

I really enjoyed the two from koren; great job dude!

Another quiet week for Doom 3...

That does it for another week in Doom; y'all take care!
