Okay, this is a decent map. If you feel bad about yourself and you want a severe ass-lickin’, get your girlfriend. If you want a physical overhaul, download this one. Best of luck on this ‘mission impossible’!

Difficulty -  rating: 8   

    

Undoubtedly, one of his finest efforts, Cory blended areas of incredible difficulty with some very nicely set traps to have me sitting here going "You bastard, what the HELL were you thinking?". I love that. While I never found myself in any real danger that is because Cory keeps pushing me to get better as a player. I am no longer just a jump in a shoot type of warrior but instead use the surroundings to protect myself, run when necessary, strafe always and use any and all advantages that I can to defeat the hordes. In some cases this means (especially in this map), getting your ASS royally fragged and then trying a different approach to the problem. My character did get fragged on several occasions and if I hadn't remembered the map as well as I had I might have found myself getting fragged even more than I did. Pay attention to your surroundings. It WILL be important! I have also learned to fight when I need to and save some fights for later instead of wasting precious ammo in a situation where it is better served to wait. If you want to become a better player also - Play Cory's maps. My only complaint? Well, of course, there is always one and it's not really a complaint but more of a suggestion to Cory - Less health and ammo. I still had plenty, especially once I passed the blue key door. There were times where I was really on the ropes but got let off - sort of a commuted sentence. Yes, it was hard. Yes, it could have been much worse by lowering the amount of ammo and health available to the point where I had to search more for each or just recieve less when there was some.

 

Playability -  rating: 7   

     I think that there should have been a bit more ammo for this one. If you’re gonna throw some heavy hittin’ baddies at a guy, give him some heavy ammo for a fighting chance. That’s the only peeve that I have for this wad. Not enough ammo. That’s going to make some players drop this one like a hot potato! GEEZ! Where’s a backpack

 

Level Design -  rating: 9    

     Other than not supplying enough firepower, this is a seriously good map. Varun did an excellent job of using sectors and textures to make a quazi-techno type of atmosphere. The music from Descent was a nice touch too.
