Thank you for downloading Looney Tune Doom. This is my help file. I hope you find it easy to follow, and that it helps you get Looney Tune Doom loaded and working. I have played....... er...... should I say, tried to play many wad files for Doom, some worked, some didn't. I probably could have gotten them to run if I had a help file like this though. I have tried to make this as simple as possible. If you are new to running wads you will find this quite helpful. If you have played many wads, you may feel this not necessary to read, but take a glance anyway, you may find something in it helpful! The other txt in this download is a credit and wad description txt.

TYPE CD\doom (changes Directory to doom)
PRESS ENTER
TYPE:
Doom.exe -file ltwad.wad LTDoom11.deh
or

First, Run setup for Doom (note if you are planing to use TUNE.EXE after setup, Save & Launch Doom command will not work. It will just load up Doom) after setup, Just close and continue with these directions,

Second, Try the shortcut I have included called "PLAY LTDoom" If you have loaded all the needed files into the Doom Directory the shortcut should work. If you didn't add these files to C:\DOOM you must adjust the shortcut, here's how.

How to run Looney Tune Doom with the Legacy Doom Port (Note You may run LTDoom with Doom2 under Legacy!)
I added this into the help file in hopes that more people try this Fantastic Doom Port. What is Legacy? Legacy is a addon program designed to enhance your Doom game. Legacy also has it's own launch program to make loading Pwad, Like Looney Tune Doom easier for you. It will enhance the GFX, Sound, and has an in game setup. It also runs Doom with a console like Quake. To also make it easier for you, I have added the port files into the Looney Tune Doom Zip. If you want to run other Pwad files, you may follow this install for LTDoom as a guideline to set them up.
When you get back on the Net, Make Sure to go to the Legacy site and see all the great things that are planed for this port, or to pick up the latest most up to date version at this URL www.newdoom.com/legacy There are more wads there you can download that are built just for the Legacy  Doom port, as well as a wealth of other info.

Running the shareware version:
I have discontinued my shareware version .

Running the Full version using the Doom/Doom2 IWAD:
Copy the File DOOM.WAD or DOOM2.WAD to the Doom folder (Dir) created when you unzipped Looney Tunes Doom's LTDFULL.ZIP. This can be done in WINDOWS EXPLORER (see fig 2 above) All you Right Click and hold on the doom.wad file, Drag to to the left and drop into the Doom Folder (dir) containing the Legacy and LTDoom files. Getting files and folders ready:
Note! Most browser send downloaded files strait to My Documents, or My Downloads. If you are use to Windows 95/98 and where your downloads go, this will be a breeze. If your not sure what your doing, Read this very carefully, because it is something all computer users need to know how to do!

If your Doom folder is not already on C:\ Drive, Open the folder it is in, Right click and hold, Drag and drop on the C:\ drive as shown. To Move the folder to C:\ Drive as shown in fig 5-1, when you release the Right Mouse button a popup will appear, Left Click On COPY HERE, this way if make a mistake you can delete the copy and start over

(Fig 5-1) To see Full size Click Here!                              (Fig 5-2)
You will follow these same basic steps to Copy your Doom1/Doom2.wad file to the Doom Folder (Dir)
Once this is done you are ready to setup Legacy. It is possible to run Looney Tune Doom in with other Folder names, I just have it this way so my pre loaded Links in Legacy work. If you put the in a different Folder you will have to create new Link to the proper files in the Legacy set up.

(Fig 5-3) If all went well, you should see something like this and these files showing on the right.

How to run Looney Tune Doom using Doom95 (Must be set up in Legacy to play.)
With Legacy you may run Looney Tune Doom In its own folder, I have called the Folder Doom, but can be any name you like. All setting were done assuming you are using the folder names I have described in this help Manual.
First Get Out your Doom95 CD and insert it in Drive D:\ (I will use Drive D for for your CD-Rom , Some computers will have a different Drive letter as you will notice in Screen Shots My CD-Rom Drive is G:\) Open Windows Explorer, This can be found under START Menu, PROGRAMS, Look for WINDOWS EXPLORER and open the program (See Fig 2 & 3 for reference

On your CD you will see these folders (CD-Drive High Lighted Yellow) DIRECTX, DOOM, DWANGO95, & XBAND. The only one you need to concern yourself with is the +DOOM folder.
Click on the + sign,  You will see a folder Called DOOMCD, Click on this folder and the files will appear in the Large area to you right, Find the Doom or Doom2 Wad and Copy this to the Doom Folder. If you are unsure about this reefer to FIG 5-1 for reference

(Fig 21)                         (Fig 22)

Once you have done this go to the Legacy Set Up and finish by setting up Legacy Click Here To get to the Legacy Set Up

Known Problems (Bugs)
  • Will not work with Doom95 without Legacy.
  • Will NOT work with Final Doom.
  • In the Standard (default) setting in Legacy Pistol is not properly aligned same with the BFG.
  • Legacy in OpenGL kinda Fuzzy and Dark but very playable
  • Sounds are slightly garbled.
  • VERY Annoying with Midi music running I suggest playing with no Music, or a very low music sound setting.

  • Some Textures are miss aligned.
  • YOU MUST Have Doom Version 1.9 If you do not Legacy will not run. and Tune.exe will not work. (you may upgrade and older version by downloading the proper patch from ID Software Upgrades, Click for Doom Upgrade, Doom2 Upgrade.)
