Overall - SCORE: 10

I didn’t have the pleasure of testing out his previous wads, but this one smokes like burning chicken grease! I will definitely keep a look out for more of his work. You MUST DOWNLOAD THIS WAD!!!!!

DIFFICULTY RATING  - rating: 10

“PHEW!!!” Playing this joint on ‘Hurt Me Plenty’ was more than enough for me! I didn’t even bother trying the ‘UV’ level! Lol. This level map is very devious and cunning. There are teleport traps at every turn, baddies behind every door and hiding in every nook and cranny. There was just enough…and I do mean JUST ENOUGH ammo and stim-packs to help you thru but it’s gonna take mad SKILZ to set this one off. (hint: strafing WILL save your ass in here). The map was a little Byzantine at points but I was not confused to the point of frustration. I had to play ‘ninja guy’, duckin’ and dodgin’ behind stuff to survive. It was fun but tough work!

Playability -  rating: 10

The level was not linear or boring at all. Everything was well staged and hidden. At one point, I had to look very close to find a switch that activates a lift in order to move further into the level. And, it’s just HALF a switch! At first glance, it looks like a light box in a doorway, until you zoom in. The monster teleports were set up VERY well. Karthik places them where you would LEAST expect them to be (hint). Even for the seasoned fragger, this level can definitely create beads of sweat in your armpits.

Level Design -  rating: 10

The sectoring is very impressive. Each sector has its own ominous allure, giving off ambient lighting and sound effects. You will not know where the evil is coming from until it bites you in the biscuits! LITERALLY!!! Karthik did wonders with dynamic heights and texturing. The monsters are staged in very obscure, strategic locales throughout the level. The secrets are obvious, but very hard work to hunt down. One secret is right in front of you, but there’s no direct way of reaching it so it taunts you every time you pass it. A pro Doomer will have his hands full on this one.
