Smothered Hope
Doom 2 iWad
Tested in zDoom. Should work in PrBoom+ as well.

Gameplay: 9/10
What a fun map. One of my all-time favorites. This map is a big one coming in with over 200 monsters, but man does it feel like something ripped straight from No Rest for the Living, which is to say iWad quality.

Level design: 9/10
This level has somewhat of a non-linear feel at the beginning, though it is ultimately a linear map. The secrets were well-designed and fun to find. I like all of the height variation found here, in particular the section with the red key, but it is throughout the map. I also like the somewhat slow gun progression, giving the player time to use each weapon against a variety of monsters and encounters. Those two revs on the lifts behind the moving ceilings early on when the player only has a shotgun cracks me up. Thank God it's funny or I'd forget about them later. This map has tons of "tricks and traps" up its sleave, making it a very interesting map.

Thing Placement: 9/10
Thing placement was awesome in this map. Tons of varitety in encounters and everything felt like an iWad. Health was the biggest commodity of this map while ammo was forgiving, allowing for plenty of moments of freaking out and spraying and praying.

Aesthetics: 9/10
The map was beautiful. Great visuals with the balconies and height variation, as well as the brightness levels combined with good texturing and architecture made for a pretty map.

Over-All: 9/10
This map is a shining example of what we all should try to achieve when we map. Newer mappers, those looking for "what to do," fans of the iWads, and anybody seeking something fun to play that hits solid on every point, look no further.
