DIFFICULTY: 8 out of 10.
I played this on HMP and that was enough. This is one map that will take a few times to get through. It starts off quite slow and rather mundane, but once you gain your first key, the shit hits the turbo fan. Beasties burst out of the woodwork, mobs overwhelm you, and your chances of making it go from 70% to 2%.
DESIGN: 6 out of 10.
Lots of books. Eh. But aside from a few offset textures, it's pretty clean. The floating candles in the ether was a nice effect. But, trust me, you won't be looking at the handiwork here. This map has lots of places that hide baddies and a central room with the worst kind of combat scenario possible with Archies included. Tight corners catch you in crossfire...in fact, that's my tip for this one. If you want to clean up, start a crossfire; it's gonna hurt, but will save you a ton of ammo in the long haul. Just stand inthe gap and DODGE. Wait for the last scream.
REPLAY VALUE: 7 out of 10.
It's a bitch to play thru if you don't know what you're doing. But, it was a fun ride cussing like I was in an arcade playing Street Fighter....
OVERALL: 7 out of 10.
Only because it was damned near IMPOSSIBLE to get to everything. Near...but not totally. A good map to blow off steam. Had a bad day? No problem. Load this one up and BOOM worries are gone. You're welcome. Remit payment by mail.
